Education

In short: being educated at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada) specialising in structural geology and metamorphic petrology, the start of my professional career was mainly as a research professional.

1994-1999

I worked for two years as Post-doctoral fellow at Memorial University at a regional mapping and research project on contract with the Geological Survey of Canada. From 1994 to 1999 I worked at the Danish Lithosphere Center in Copenhagen on the tectonic evolution of the Palaeoproterozoic Nagssugtoqidian Orogen in Greenland.

1999 - 2008

Subsequently, I was until 2008 employed at the geological mapping department of the Geological Survey of Danmark and Greenland. I authored two geological maps in the Greenland map series and participated (several times as project leader) in several other mapping and research projects in Greenland. This included two years working on contract for Nuna Minerals – the Greenlandic mineral exploration company – in their Storø gold project.

2008 - 2012

In 2008 I took the jump to industry and was employed for four years by Scandinavian Highlands, a Danish Junior exploration company, for whom I ran a drilling campaign in the Harz Mountains in Germany (SedEx deposit) and participating in several other of the company’s projects, including a Ni-Co-Cu project and a gold project in northern Norway.

2012 - present

Since 2012 I am a freelance consultant in the mineral exploration, working predominantly on projects in Scandinavia and Greenland. Projects that I worked on include base metals in several VMS deposits, orogenic gold, graphite, igneous Ni-Co-Cu, Cobalt, Ti-P-V in a layered intrusion. This included both green field, brown field and historic mine projects.
